Cycling without Age trishaw
A project enabling people with limited mobility an opportunity to feel the wind in their hair has been formally launched in Forres.
The local Rotary club led a fundraising drive to bring a Cycling Without Age trishaw to the town. The three-wheeler can carry two passengers at a time, with pedal power provided by local volunteers.
It is aimed at giving older people or those with limited mobility the opportunity to enjoy being outdoors in a fun and social environment.
The Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation made a £2,000 award towards the trishaw and Foundation Manager Sarah Rollo was delighted to be in attendance as the Spirit of Forres was officially named.
The launch followed a huge fundraising effort led by Rotarians, which was enthusiastically supported by the local community.
I was lucky enough to get a turn being pedalled around a sunny Grant Park and it is highly recommended. Well done to the volunteer pilots doing the leg work and to everyone involved in making the Spirit of Forres a reality.
