The Ledge Climbing Gym

Accessible hand holds for indoor climbing

In early 2025, The Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation made a £7,000 award to The Ledge in Inverness to increase its accessibility for people of all abilities.

That enabled the charity to purchase a variety of different hand grips and holds, widening its range to enable more people to take part.

Now, the holds have been received and are in use - opening up physical activity opportunities for more young people in Inverness and the wider area.

The equipment will enable the skilled team to deliver impact programme work for a period of at least 3-5 years. It was part of a wider project which also received funding from The Woodenspoon Charity and some of The Ledge's own funds.

This is the second time the Foundation has supported this award-winning charity, with a £5,000 grant agreed in 2022 to provide safety mats in the Telford Street facility.
